Curated by Carter Ratcliff. Ford Crull continues to explore the expressive power of personal and cultural symbols in a series of densely painted and vividly colored compositions. Crull uses identifiable images such as hearts, wings, crosses, and the human figure, as well as geometrical emblems and abstract forms whose meanings are less explicit. Words, in the form of cryptic, fleeting phrases, also animate Crull’s pictorial world.
Curated by Julie Heffernan, Pixerina Witcherina Magisterium brings together the work of Joan Bankemper, Ruth Marten and Jenny Lynn McNutt in a conversation about slant authority, languages of the absurd, and the abundant pleasures of too muchness.

The three artists in this exhibit – Hayoon Jay Lee, Xuewu Zheng, and Doug Navarra – present works based on the processing of mundane cultural ephemera: printed papers, grains of rice, vintage documents, and rusted old tools. With extraordinary care and labor, these utilitarian materials are transmuted into unfamiliar forms that command new attention from their more humble original purpose.
The Woodstock Byrdcliffe Guild’s 24th Annual 5 by 7 Show is one of Woodstock’s premier events, showcasing artists from the Hudson Valley and beyond. The show is open to everyone, and we accept and display all submissions. Works are exhibited anonymously, a fun way to give equal voice to ALL, with the artist’s name revealed after the work is sold.
Tasha Depp’s three-dimensional paintings are conversations between real life and representation, predictability and chance, priorities and play. Borrowing from trompe l’oeil techniques, decorative folk art tole painting, and the European fine arts tradition, Depp paints her subjects precisely and with such attention that her accurate paintings deceive the eye.
An exhibition of acclaimed Hudson Valley photo-based contemporary artists who each employ various approaches and techniques to relay stories — primarily of differing cultural backgrounds, identity issues, and a relationship to nature.
The premise for this exhibition is the notion of “self” as reflected in the work of three artists – Brenda Goodman, Julie Heffernan, and Elisa Jensen – who investigate the idea of “self” in very different ways, but with depth, honesty, and a virtuoso command of painting.
