What We Will Be, a reading of a new play by Joe Thristino

Set in early 1990’s Brooklyn, pregnant and hapless Elise returns to the borough to bring former Catholic priest and now-bartender Emmanuel – the lover she abandoned after he left the priesthood for her – back into her life.

Joe Thristino is a writer based in Brooklyn. In the realm of playwriting, he’s a Dramatist Guild member, having been a shortlisted finalist for The Ambassador Theater Group’s Playwrights Prize (Bringer of Doom) and Best One Act at The Tennessee Williams Play Festival (Release Note). His stage work has been performed at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts, Players Theatre, Dixon Place, Theater for the New City, and the Times Square Arts Center, among others.

This performance will take place at the Kleinert/James Center for the Arts at 34 Tinker St in Woodstock, NY. 

Part of the Round the Bend Theater Company script reading series. The Woodstock Byrdcliffe Guild is pleased to collaborate with Round the Bend Theatre Company in presenting a series of new plays. Each selected play will be read by professional actors in front of a live audience with the playwright engaging with the audience at the conclusion of the performance.
