You are invited to participate in the 25th Annual 5 by 7 Show
(or if you are European, the 12.7 x 17.78 cm Show)

Please make one or two small works for us!

The Kleinert/James Center for the Arts 5 by 7 Show is one of Woodstock’s premier events, showcasing artists from the Hudson Valley and beyond. The show is open to ALL and we accept and display ALL submissions. Works are exhibited anonymously, a fun way to give equal voice to ALL—so, please only sign the back! 5 by 7 artworks are sold for $150 each.

This is a major fundraising event for Byrdcliffe. By contributing a small work, you help to support our high quality programming in the arts including exhibitions, artist talks, performances, and more.

EXHIBITION DETAILS

•  Monday, November 4 – Artwork due – information and image of artwork sent by email; artwork delivered to the gallery.
•  Friday, December 6 – Opening reception —  Artworks available for sale at the gallery and on the 5 by 7 Show website.
•  Friday, December 20 – Unsold artworks discounted to $75 for remainder of the show.
•  Sunday, December 22 – Sold artworks available for pick-up by purchaser

SUBMIT YOUR ARTWORK INFORMATION ONLINE – Email your submission information to: 5by7@woodstockguild.org

WE WILL BE PUTTING THE ARTWORKS ONLINE so please send in a 1 – 5MB jpg of your artwork so it can be featured on our online selling platform.

Kindly follow the process and guidelines below:

INCLUDE

•  Artist name, title, medium
•  Artist email, phone number, mailing address
•  Digital image of the work in JPG format (1- 5MB)
• Send quality photos of your work as whatever image you submit will be used on the 5 by 7 website.

GUIDELINES

You may submit up to two (2) 5 by 7 works.

• FINAL SIZE: 5 by 7 inches (or 7 by 5 inches), including frame.
• Every year we receive work in sizes other than 5 by 7. We must turn them away. WHY? … it’s The 5 by 7 Show!

Most 5 by 7s are on unframed canvas boards; complimentary boards available to all participating artists. To receive a 5 by 7 canvas board (or two), stop by the Byrdcliffe Shop (OPEN Fri-Sun, 12-5pm) or contact us to schedule a pick-up time. You may also use your own equivalent-sized surface.

 ALL MEDIA  ACCEPTED

For sculptural works: 5 by 7 base and any height up to 7 inches; 5 by 7 shadow boxes are great for jewelry.

•  Participants under the age 16; indicate age on back of work.
•  Works on paper DO NOT need to be framed.
•  Works must be dry, and if framed, ready to hang; wet paintings not accepted.
•  Please, DO NOT write your name on the front of the work.

On the BACK include: your name, phone number, email, and indicate TOP of work.

DELIVERY OF ARTWORK – NOW until Monday, November 4, 2023

•  Drop off your work: at the Byrdcliffe Office (Monday – Friday, 10 am – 4 pm) or at the Byrdcliffe Shop (Saturday – Sunday, 12 noon – 5 pm)
•  Mail your work: Woodstock Byrdcliffe Guild (attn. 5 by 7 Show), 34 Tinker Street, Woodstock, NY 12498
•  Pick-up of unsold works: January 2024

To have your work mailed back after the show, include a SELF-ADDRESSED STAMPED ENVELOPE
